Jennifer May Nickel is an award winning Costume Designer with over fifteen years of experience designing costumes for Film, Television, Commercials and Theater. Most recently she was the Costume Designer for season one of The CW Network’s hour-long drama Containment, the History Channel’s series Legend of the Superstition Mountains, TLC’s holiday movie The Secret Santa, and Nickelodeon’s The Massively Mixed-Up Middle School Mystery.

Jennifer has Costume Designed pilots for E! (I’m Not A DJ) and Nickelodeon (Junior Eye), as well as films for ROR Productions (Republic of Rick), Mirrorcore Productions (Wake and The Beating) and Selander Films (Natural Insemination). Past costume design credits include Moon Scoop Production’s syndicated children’s show Super Sportlets, Syfy’s movie Miami Magma, SMBC Theater’s Starpocalypse, and various CollegeHumor Originals.

For commercials, Jennifer has worked for Smashbox, Office Max,
Quicken, Volkswagen, Subway, AT&T, Advil, Barnes & Noble Nook, Nissan, Chrysler, Toyota, Dodge, Chevrolet, Dodge, Hyundai, Nintendo DS, Kay Jewelers, Lowe’s, Bank of America, Bausch & Lomb, Rock Guitar, Wendy’s, Big Lots, Meijer, and Central Blood Bank.

Classically trained in the theater, she has been the Costume Designer on productions of Three Sisters, Choephorae, Kvetch, Of Grapes and Nuts, Wonder of the World, Metamorphoses, Broadway Remembered, and Anton in Show Business.

Jennifer studied at Carnegie Mellon University (MFA Costume Design), Oxford University (St. Edmund’s College: Myth and Ritual in Theatre) and East Stroudsburg University (BFA Theatre). She won the Elizabeth Schrader Kimberly Costume Design Award (2008), The Cecilia Cohen Award for Excellence in Theatre (2004) and The WCDAC Achievement Award (2008).
